Transport Operations Administrator
This is an exciting opportunity to join the team within one of the UK’s most modern and professional vehicle salvage agents and parts recyclers based in Thame, Oxford.
Key duties
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Transport Operational Administrator to be based at our main depot in Thame, Oxfordshire. You will be part of a logistics support team responsible for organising driver’s movements relating to vehicle collections and deliveries. This is a hands-on role focused on delivering efficient and cost-effective transport solutions for a modern fleet of 22-strong recovery transporters, whilst ensuring legal compliance and operational excellence.
- Liaising with our clients (insurance companies, recovery agents, body shops and the general public) to arrange vehicle collections and deliveries
- Assist with the driver/vehicle run schedules for the collection and/or delivery of vehicles, ensuring optimum cost-effectiveness through the utilisation of full load capacity and compatible geographic locations
- Assist with the planning of schedules for each driver in full consideration of EU driving regulations in respect of breaks, driving limits, and rest periods
- Communicating with our fleet of recovery drivers throughout the day, dealing with any issues that arise in a professional manor.
- Ensure all contractual service obligations are met
- Complete all reasonable tasks requested by colleagues efficiently & effectively.
Key skills
The essential qualities required for the Transport Operations Administrator include:
- Experience in a similar operational transport role.
- Experience of working in a busy and fast-moving office environment.
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
- Strong communication skills – both verbal and written.
- The right person for the job will be a great team player, with a positive/can-do attitude.
- Ability to work under your own initiative and as part of a team.
- Basic understanding of motor vehicles and ideally, the vehicle salvage industry.

The salary is 28k - 30k depending on experience, to be reviewed upon completion of the 3-month probationary period.
