Environmental Policy

Environmental Policy

Concern for the environment is an integral and fundamental part of ASM’s corporate business strategy.  The company recognises that the actions of its employees, its use of energy, and its systems and procedures may all be potentially detrimental to the environment, and as such, we constantly strive to achieve higher standards in all aspects of our business practices.

At ASM, we aim to reduce the pollution and waste associated with vehicles and ensure that end-of-life vehicles (ELV’s) are disposed of legally and responsibly in accordance with EU legislation.  This law covers the responsibility for everybody involved in the manufacture, use and disposal of motor vehicles – including the manufacturer, the recycler... and the owner!

At present, we guarantee to recycle 85% of all ELV’s processed, and this figure will increase to 95% by 2015.

Corporate Social Responsibility

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is the voluntary action taken by businesses (over and above compliance with minimum legal requirements) to address both its own competitive interests and the interests of wider society.  CSR is about how businesses take into account its economic, social and environmental impacts in the way it operates – maximising the benefits whilst minimising the disadvantages.

At ASM, we believe that we have responsibilities that go beyond the production of goods and services to help solve important social problems, and we are constantly striving to achieve best practice solutions within all aspects of our business.

We strongly believe that our Corporate Social Responsibility will not only enable ASM to sustain a strong business, but also, will help us to establish a superior set of values that will distinguish ASM within the auto recycling market place.
